IT Jumpstart+ IT Jumpstart+ Program

The IT Jumpstart+ Program is an instructor-led program, designed to prepare participants for new career opportunities in Information Technology. No prior IT experience is required! This 224-hour, 15-week program covers three areas: basic internet security, foundational IT concepts and terminology, and in-depth training in the skills necessary for a help desk or tech support position. Each of the three areas leads to internationally recognized IT certifications from CertNexus and CompTIA. Students who earn certifications may apply to convert certifications for up to 11 college credits in Trocaire’s Associate of Applied Science in Cybersecurity. The course also includes the IT Career Exploration Program which will go into detail about various IT careers to help you choose the path that best fits your interests and skills!

This program will be held virtually. Weekly assignments will be posted on Blackboard (Trocaire’s Learning Management System).

Trocaire instructors provide coaching and guidance to prepare you for the certification exams with the goal of having you earn the CertNexus CyberSafe, CompTIA Tech+, and CompTIA A+ Core 1 and 2 certification exams. The A+ certification is the equivalent to 9-12 months of hands-on experience in a Help Desk, Service Technician, or other IT Support role.

Students will also receive the Work-Readiness Skills training offered in partnership with 716 Ministries.

Students will receive as part of their program fees:

  • Employer Networking

Students can loan a laptop for the duration of class. Availability of laptop loaners may be limited.
